About the role
- Assist in the development of PA Program guidance documents and tools when needed
- Create/provide training aids, instructor guides, student manuals, and web-based training for PA course instruction
- Provide technical, technical editing, graphic development, and formatting for PA documents
- Provide support to state, tribal, territorial local governments, and some private non-profits
- Support FEMA Public Assistance recovery initiatives in Zone 2 across the Midwest
- Deploy anywhere in Zone 2 for 6–12-month deployments
Requirements
- 5 years minimum of prior Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Public Assistance (PA) experience
- A bachelor's degree in graphic design or a related field and 5 years of experience in a related field; OR 10 years of experience in graphic design or in a related field (without a degree; must have high school diploma or GED)
- Experience with graphics creation
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in recovery arena
- The ability to obtain and maintain FEMA Public Trust
- A United States citizenship
- The ability to maintain FEMA specific trainings
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- The ability to deploy to any location in zone 2 with a 24–48-hour notice after task order award
- The ability to go on 6–12-month deployments at a minimum
- Experience and comfortability using a smart phone
- The ability to work independently, in a team environment, and under stressful conditions with tight deadlines
- Knowledge of the FEMA Public Assistance program/policy (desired)
- Trained in the Public Assistance delivery model preferred
- Active FEMA badge (desired)
