💰 $140,000 - $185,000 per year

About the role

  • Delivery of timely, precise, and commercially oriented legal advice to minimize risks and support business objectives
  • Oversight of compliance with internal policies, relevant laws, and legal requirements relevant to operating and conducting business in the US and Canada
  • Ownership of drafting, reviewing, and negotiating customer and supplier sale and service contracts, IP and software focused contracts and contracts supporting product development, research and development and marketing teams
  • Evaluation of legal risk factors impacting operational and providing practical guidance relating to strategic decisions to enable well‑informed business choices
  • Steering of complex legal matters involving multiple internal and external stakeholders toward effective resolution
  • Managing litigation and assisting in the supervision and direction of outside counsel, as may be necessary
  • Providing training to internal teams
  • Research and interpretation of laws, rulings, and regulatory requirements to provide actionable legal recommendations

Requirements

  • Active member in good standing with a state bar association on the East Coast.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in corporate or commercial law, ideally gained in an international business environment
  • Track record as in‑house counsel or equivalent advisory function
  • Must be fluent in written and spoken English and Spanish, with the ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex legal contracts and agreements in English and Spanish.
  • Strong drafting, communication and negotiation skills
  • High level of integrity, sound judgment, and analytical thinking
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills paired with a service‑oriented mindset
  • Strong team player with the ability to handle high and time sensitive workload in a dynamic environment
  • Some regional and international travel required (10-15%)
  • Experience with Puerto Rican commercial laws, a plus
