Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to gather information and understand technical specifications and requirements
Create and maintain technical documentation, including user manuals, system manuals, specifications, and other technical guides for autonomous surface vessels
Translate complex technical concepts into clear and accessible documentation for end-users
Ensure documentation adheres to industry standards, best practices, and relevant DoD regulations and guidelines
Review and edit documentation for accuracy, consistency, and clarity
Work closely with the product development team to stay updated on project timelines, milestones, and deliverables
Continuously update and improve existing documentation based on feedback from users, stakeholders, and internal teams
Stay informed about emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in technical writing and documentation
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent practical experience
2-4 years of experience as a Technical Writer in a technology-driven environment or within the defense industry
2 years of experience interacting with technical stakeholders
Proficient with version control systems and front-end development
Familiarity with docs as code, markdown content formatting, Javascript, CSS, and Nunjucks templating a plus
Track record of capable execution of multiple projects at once, self-direction, and meeting deadlines
Submission of a portfolio
Familiarity with DoD standards and regulations related to technical documentation a plus
