About the role
- Assigned to a project team and assist project management and project controls team members in execution of project work
- Assist project managers with meeting facilitation, including meeting agendas, meeting notes, and action item list tracking
- Support project managers with stakeholder coordination, including maintenance of contact lists, communication plans, email distribution lists, and MS Teams channel organization
- Support project scheduling, cost tracking, progress monitoring, and project/portfolio reporting for power-related engineering and construction projects
- Manage RFI and Submittal processing including creating a tracking log and facilitating communication between the contractor and client review team
- Participate in project site visits/walk downs and safety briefings
- Support material reservations/orders and site logistics including entering reservations, creating a log, and monitoring long lead time items
- Assist with change management including entering new items in the log and updating changes in status
- Utilize and expand academic background in project controls and project management tools and methodologies
- Learn new skills and engage with project team members to understand and support team needs
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree with emphasis in Engineering, Construction Management, or other relevant degree
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Self-Starter, proactive, able to work independently with minimal direction
- Ability to quickly identify and prioritize issues, create solutions, and meet deadlines
- Working knowledge in MS Office tools, with emphasis on MS Excel in creating and maintaining detailed, interactive spreadsheets, workbooks, and databases
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to interact and multitask with project team members, clients, and vendors of varying position levels

- Prior related internship, co-op, or work experience in project controls, project planning, project scheduling, or earned value performance (valued but not required)
- Demonstrated leadership experience within campus and/or the community (valued but not required)
