About the role

  • Identify and meet with prospective customers to determine needs and identify new opportunities.
  • Participate in the setting of business plan objectives and benchmarks with regard to marketing, initiatives and sales activities.
  • Ensure that training programs are in place to enhance end users skills to enable the company to consistently produce quality products with services that meet or exceed requirements.
  • Arrange presentations and demonstrations for customers as required.
  • Responsible for conducting pull tests underground, installation audits and provide accurate reports of the testing findings.
  • Recognizes and pursues sales opportunities for the company’s existing products and identification of new product opportunities in regard to initiatives.
  • Assists in analyzing competing companies and products to determine their strengths, weaknesses and how our company should position itself to counter or take advantage of these factors.
  • Ensure actions plans are created and implemented for his/her territory in order to achieve these goals and objectives.
  • Ensure regular visits to mine sites to meet with end users, mine superintendents, engineering departments, purchasing reps to ensure Ground Support is meeting the customer needs and gather future information which will help drive forecasting, budgets and innovative solutions.
  • Implement and adhere to the annual technical sales program as aligned by strategic direction for the year.
  • Researching and developing lists of potential customers.
  • Establishing and maintaining industry contacts that lead to sales.
  • Investigating and understanding non-conformances on manufactured and procured products to identify root causes and implement corrective action plans.
  • Utilize sales reports to monitor sales activity by account to understand and address variances (ie. deliveries, financial, forecasts, etc.).
  • May be required to prepare quotes, order entry and work within ERP systems.
  • Monthly reporting on business activity.
  • Ensures that all activities are carried out in accordance with Company Values and current Company Policies and Procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by manager
  • Demonstrated interest in learning new things.
  • Ability to identify problems and proactively solve problems.
  • Works well within a team.

Requirements

  • Strong presentation skills
  • Excellent customer relations skills.
  • Must be mechanically inclined.
  • Ability to travel up to 60% of the time.
  • Must be able to work underground at all mines site across the regional territory.
  • Previous underground experience will be considered an asset.
  • Able to train end users on installation methods of all Ground Support products.
  • This employee must have attention to detail and excellent math skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and adaptable to various software programs, including ERP system.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • 3 - 5 years of sales and marketing experience in related industry
  • Ability to prepare detailed reports and correspondence.
  • Post-secondary education in mining engineering and/or operations, mining technology, or business administration.
