About the role

Own and deliver complex features for Samsara’s Telematics platform processing real-time IoT signals (GPS, Engine RPM, Fuel Levels)
Work with product managers, designers, firmware, and infrastructure engineers to design, build, test, and deliver end-to-end products
Develop skills and knowledge across multiple technologies (Go, GraphQL, Typescript, JavaScript, React, React Native)
Solve real-life problems and optimize fleets globally
Coach, mentor, and guide engineers and contribute to their growth
Maintain production systems owned by the team and provide operational support
Participate in on-call rotation and outage investigations
Champion and embed Samsara’s cultural principles focused on customer success, long-term thinking, growth mindset, inclusivity, and teamwork
Grow technically and drive scalable innovation across the telematics domain

5+ years of experience building products with a skilled engineering team
Strong programming fundamentals in languages like Java, Python, Go, or JavaScript
Familiarity with multiple tiers such as React front ends and Microservices
Experience building ML-enabled products (preferred)
Track record of delivering meaningful results
Strong ownership and high standards for work
Outstanding technical skills, curiosity, and critical thinking
Ability to elevate the team through faster thinking and sharper execution
Willingness to participate in on-call rotation and outage investigations
Ability to coach, mentor, and guide engineers
Experience or willingness to develop skills across technologies (Go, GraphQL, Typescript, JavaScript, React, React Native)
Must reside in the United Kingdom; relocation assistance will not be provided
