About the role
- Take full ownership of complex features and projects from concept (0-1) through design, development, launch, and ongoing support
- Develop customer-facing platform features and core infrastructure used by thousands of fleets
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, firmware and infrastructure engineers, and ML teams to design, build, test, and deliver end-to-end products
- Mentor, coach, and guide other engineers on the team
- Shape roadmaps, influence technical decisions, and create systems that reduce CO₂ and improve safety at scale
- Balance rapid iteration with delivering reliable, scalable features and support production systems in your domain
- Champion Samsara’s cultural principles and contribute to a collaborative engineering culture
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience developing and shipping outstanding customer-focused products
- Strong programming fundamentals in Java, Python, Golang, TypeScript or JavaScript
- Experience designing and maintaining complex systems and application services
- Ability to estimate, communicate, and deliver project milestones
- Experience iterating on new products based on customer feedback
- (Ideal) Experience using LLM technologies
- Must reside in the United States and be able to secure and maintain legal right to work in the specified location
