About the role
- Architect our approach to managing our services on different public cloud substrates
- Designing and building deployment automation and change pipelines
- Leading efforts to improve monitoring, alerting, and incident response
- Coaching other engineers on best practices for designing and operating reliable systems at scale
- Contributing to prominent open-source projects
- Measuring and improving the performance and availability of Kubernetes and Kafka
- Building deep expertise with public cloud substrates, Kubernetes and Kafka
Requirements
- 3-5 years of Lead experience
- 3 years experience working on any one of BigData Distributed Services
- Minimum 8 years of experience as Software Engineer
- Experience with Java and any scripting language in a Linux/UNIX data center environment
- Experience in Distributed Systems
- Experience with one or more public cloud substrates e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP
- Experience with one or more of: Kafka, Spark, Kubernetes, Docker, Hadoop, Spinnaker, Terraform
- Experience owning and operating multiple instances of a mission-critical service
- Experience with Agile development methodology and Test-Driven Development
- Experience using telemetry and metrics to drive operational excellence.
