About the role
- Create new GEPS maps when required.
- Update GEPS maps assigned in the work queue.
- Liaise with printshop to have published maps printed as required and assist with QC issues.
- Ensure GEPS and Online store have newly available maps and report any issues to appropriate teams and product management.
- Report errors with data to appropriate regional team members and/or Modular managers to ensure data is corrected.
- Train and mentor junior team members.
- Create custom one-time maps at product management and regional team request.
- Cover for sickness and holiday within the cartography team.
Requirements
- A-Levels or other further education qualifications in Geography/Geology or design subjects with a strong interest in GIS and Cartography.
- Desirable - First degree(BSc) or equivalent in Spatial Data/GIS or Geography with a heavy GIS bias.
- Interest in cartography.
- GIS system knowledge proficient in use of ESRI software suite or equivalent.
- Understanding of mapping principles to include a good knowledge of projections and their uses.
- Good design skills.
- Good attention to detail.
- Ability to work well in a team or individually.
- Good presentation skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Cartographer (0 - 3 years’ experience), Senior Cartographer (5+ years’ experience)
