About the role
- Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
- Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts and pursue new client relationships.
- Build executive level relationships and work with customers at the most senior levels to identify opportunities and translate them into a commercial strategy.
- Plan, coordinate and participate in new business/client prospecting.
- Monitor and evaluate key customer strategies, business trends and growth priorities.
- Provide transparent financial and operational assessment of the health of our customer relationships.
- Partner and collaborate across various internal teams (e.g., sales, marketing, product development) to ensure cohesive execution of strategies and initiatives that meet client needs.
- Lead negotiations and contract discussions to secure profitable deals.
- Reduce contractual and commercial friction to improve customer experience.
- Develop industry specific knowledge.
- Drive thought leadership across the CCO and cross-divisional commercial organizations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, or a related field; an MBA or CFA is preferred.
- 15+ years of experience in Sales and Relationship Management, Product Management, Commercial Operations or other customer focused roles required.
- Deep knowledge of Financial industry, Buyside segment, market trends and cross-divisional understanding of the S&P Global portfolio.
- Proven track record in managing large accounts or business segments.
- Diversified experiences driving and implementing growth initiatives and experience in leading transformation.
- Confidence in navigating and building relationships with C-Level executives.
- Well-balanced strategic and operational mindset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective relationship management.
- Data and metrics drive.
- Able to resolve issues in a variety of complex situations.
- Considers best practices and lessons learned to evaluate solutions.
- Strategic partnership lens and ability to think across the end-to-end customer value chain.
- Person in this role is required to work from NY office at least 3 days a week.
