Manage and maintain surveillance on a rating portfolio of credits and support the team in day-to-day activities, notably data gathering.
Perform credit analysis applying relevant S&P Global Ratings criteria to identify key factors affecting issue and issuer credit ratings.
Lead new transaction and issuer ratings analysis and deliver outcomes in a timely, orderly, and insightful manner.
Take responsibility for ratings as a primary analyst: lead meetings, interact with senior management of issuers to obtain information for credit rating decisions.
Prepare rating committee documentation, present findings and opinions to a credit rating committee.
Prepare materials for publication (rating trends reports, press releases, detailed commentaries) to disseminate ratings in a timely basis.
Develop and maintain an understanding of industry trends and issues; contribute to sectorial or regional publications and criteria development projects.
Share analytical expertise and ideas to improve group operations and maintain integrity of analytical/compliance databases.
Requirements
Strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of financial statements and accounting concepts.
Typically 3-5 years of experience (an S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 3-5 years of experience).
Be numerate and accurate with figures and detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accuracy whilst complying with deadlines.
Be proficient at working with financial models.
Be educated to degree level in a relevant business-related field (Bachelor's degree).
Fluency in English (written and verbal) along with fluent (written and verbal) French language skills.
Capability to navigate and engage in challenging conversations with clarity and empathy.
Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
Be willing to travel, sometimes at short notice.
All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week.
Candidates who reach the final stage must attend at least one in-person interview at nearest S&P Global Ratings office.
Employment may be contingent upon compliance with S&P Global's Securities Disclosure and Trading Policy; candidates may be asked to disclose securities holdings.
Preferred: Knowledge of the Utilities or Infrastructure sector.
Preferred: A relevant Master’s degree, CFA, or financial qualification.
Preferred: Ability to speak another European language (for example, Spanish).
