About the role
- Leads a team of consultants to identify tax savings opportunities for clients
- Maintains existing client relationships and focuses on customs and foreign trade tax recovery
- Researches tax issues, reconciles databases, and completes detailed calculations
- Develops client workplans and schedules associated project deliverables
- Travels to client locations to gather and copy tax returns, invoices, purchase orders, and other documentation to use in the audit refund process
- Reviews and reconciles client data downloads and identifies tax issues to research
- Assists with client billing and financial forecasting
- Responds to client inquiries and requests from state agencies
- Prepares and conducts client presentations
- Manages complex customs and foreign trade tax projects, including audit defense, managed audits, managed compliance, reverse audits, and tax recovery
- Negotiates tax resolutions with state agencies
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree or equivalent in Accounting and/or Finance
- Six to eight years audit or tax related experience
