About the role
- Working with our business teams to draft, negotiate and execute commercial agreements, whilst proactively maintaining and improving the processes that underpin them.
- Providing day-to-day legal perspective and guidance, as well as risk assessment and mitigation
- Advising our business teams on compliance with data protection and e-privacy laws
- Assisting with acquisitions and corporate integration projects
- Helping to establish and manage a framework of policies and guidance to manage legal and commercial issues within our business
Requirements
- 2 to 4 years’ post-qualification experience in-house or at a commercial or corporate law firm with experience providing full service commercial legal support (the reference to PQE is a guide only. We welcome applications from candidates with more or less PQE)
- An experience and appreciation of the challenges and requirements of delivering legal support in a fast moving commercial in-house team with ability to be impactful from an early stage..
- Qualified to practice as a solicitor in England and Wales (or another common law jurisdiction)
- Proven technical ability to draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements to tight timescales
- Experience of advising on IT, data protection/e-privacy laws as well as commercial and corporate law
- Knowledge of intellectual property, competition law and regulated sector experience
- Knowledge of the insurance and/or financial services
