About the role
- Act as primary quality interface between Raytheon (RTX) and external suppliers
- Ensure suppliers meet requirements, resolve quality issues, and implement corrective actions
- Establish and sustain healthy supplier relationships and provide performance feedback
- Liaise between supply base and internal functional groups for supplier source selection, risk mitigation, strategic planning, and supplier development
- Interpret purchase order quality notes and ensure flow down of product requirements to sub-tier suppliers
- Assess subcontractor/supplier quality capabilities across program lifecycle
- Identify supplier risk and systemic performance issues and drive root-cause analysis and corrective solutions with closure plans
- Drive continuous product/process improvements using statistical and analytical tools (Six Sigma, lean)
- Support First Article Verification and Source Inspection
- Support supplier assessments, audits, and reviews and work with Quality and Cross Business Teams to close issues rapidly
Requirements
- Typically requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
- In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 12 years of industry related experience
- 8 years relevant engineering experience (typical)
- U.S. citizenship required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance (DoD Secret)
- Experience managing and leading suppliers with Root Cause Corrective Action methods such as 5 Why, Fishbone, etc.
- Experience working process improvement initiatives (Six Sigma, Lean)
- Experience in collecting, analyzing, and presenting data for decision making
- Experience with supplier assessments, audits, and reviews
- Domestic travel minimum of 25% (driving up to 300-mile radius and some flying)
- Experience with DoD product and process oversight and industry standards (preferred)
- Familiarity with AS9100, AS9102, ISO-9000, AS9145 (preferred)
- Experience with industry technical standards (ANSI, CMMI, ASTM) (preferred)
- Experience collaborating with engineering, manufacturing operations, and supply chain (preferred)
- Experience with Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs), Printed Wire Board (PWB), Wire/Cable, Electrical Items and Assemblies (preferred)
- Certifications preferred: Six Sigma, Lean and/or ASQ (CQE, CQM/OE, CSQE, CQA, CRE, etc.)
