About the role
- Work with the Avionics Integrated Production Teams in the Bellevue, IA facility to learn manufacturing engineering principles.
- Work side by side with Industrial Engineers, production floor operators, inspectors, quality, and test technicians to resolve flow, product, and quality issues.
- Design tooling to aid the manufacturing process and utilize additive manufacturing (3D printing) to support manufacturing needs.
- Analyze best layout, flow, building, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and modification of electronic or electro-mechanical devices, assemblies, subsystems, and systems.
- Assist in planning allocation of resources, materials, and personnel to establish maximum utilization of equipment.
- Conduct studies pertaining to cost control, productivity improvement, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems.
- Plan sequence of operations for procedures, manufacturing documents, standard work, and product routings.
- Immerse in a full-time, Monday–Friday co-op session running January–August and act as a direct part of the team.
Requirements
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
- Position Role Type: Onsite (must be able to work onsite in Bellevue, IA).
- Full-time availability for a Monday–Friday co-op session January–August; expected to take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with the working mentorship opportunity.
- Security Clearance: None/Not Required.
