About the role
- Apply CORE and Lean Manufacturing concepts to manufacturing processes
- Promote and engage on Continuous Improvement projects (Kaizens)
- Support standardization of processes and visual management
- Use tools such as Time Studies to improve production efficiency
- Create and update standard work instruction throughout multiple functional areas
- Collaborate with multiple departments and different levels of leadership
- Learn and apply CORE and Lean Manufacturing tools, line balancing tools, tool design, CAD tools and 3D printing, and Root Cause Analysis
- Interact with MRO BU for service and repair activities and support Operations Business manufacturing life-saving systems
Requirements
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
- U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62
- Security Clearance: None/Not Required
- Participate in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session that will run January-August (including the Spring semester); it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity.
