About the role
- Join the Manufacturing support team at Collins Aerospace Manchester, Iowa facility as an on-site Facilities Engineer Co-Op
- Support the electrical manufacturing and test environment for Avionics Commercial and Military Cockpit Displays
- Work with Manufacturing and Facilities Engineers to implement projects impacting the site
- Work alongside production floor operators and support staff to resolve site issues
- Implement continuous improvement projects and initiatives
- Creatively resolve or improve site safety concerns
- Work with layout of shop floor and maintain systems to prepare facility for production and new/moving machinery
- Aid in projects to help improve site safety and sustainability goals
- Full-time, Monday–Friday co-op session running January–August to provide hands-on mentorship
Requirements
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline
- Expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with the co-op
- U.S. citizenship is required
- Proficient knowledge using Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
- Proficient knowledge of CAD software
- Electronic knowledge
- Self-starter and interested in electronics manufacturing
- Ability to work full-time, Monday–Friday during the co-op session
