About the role
- Provide technical knowledge and process capability expertise to improve supplier performance
- Be involved in all phases of product life cycles from proposal through new product development to production implementation
- Ensure technical data packages are complete and accurate and that supplier technical performance meets quality, cost and schedule objectives
- Drive Raytheon design requirements to improve manufacturing and quality capabilities of suppliers
- Initiate continuous and measurable design and process improvement of supplier hardware for affordability
- Communicate and translate technical data packages to suppliers
- Conduct supplier engagements related to capability, capacity, opportunity and risk
- Perform technical evaluations in support of cost and price analysis
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective action
- Prioritize and execute improvement opportunities and communicate the technical health of suppliers to stakeholders
- Support travel as needed, minimum 60% and visit local supplier facilities (domestic travel)
Requirements
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
- Minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience
- Relevant experience in manufacturing engineering, supplier engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, hardware engineering, electrical engineering and/or supplier quality
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
- U.S. citizenship is required
- Expected to travel domestically up to 60% of the time, driving up to a 300-mile radius and some flying as needed
- Maintain a home office and visit local supplier facilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills (preferred)
- Experience performing supplier assessments (preferred)
- Experience with typical hardware product documentation types (part and assembly drawings, parts lists, schematics, specifications, source control drawings, etc.) (preferred)
- Proficient in current TDP and Configuration Management-related protocols (preferred)
- Familiar with product structuring, linkage within PDM Windchill (preferred)
- Familiar with 3D model types such as Creo, STP, IGS (preferred)
- Familiar with CCA TDP construct, drawings and models and PWB artwork (preferred)
- Experience with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems, purchase orders, requisitions, Mfg Bill of Materials (MBOM), material masters, purchase requisitions (preferred)
