About the role

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with US GAAP and SEC regulations for a public company
  • Ensure accurate and timely closing of the monthly financials, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Support the preparation and filing of public company reports, including 10-Q, 10-K, and other SEC filings
  • Ensure the accurate recording of transactions, including revenue, expenses, assets, and liabilities, and ensure compliance with accounting policies
  • Perform account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts, including cash, fixed assets, and accruals
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls to ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) requirements
  • Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and addressing audit queries in a timely manner
  • Support the documentation and testing of internal control processes to meet SOX compliance
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial reports, identifying trends and providing actionable insights to management
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure that financial performance aligns with budgeted goals and provide insights on potential risks or opportunities
  • Assist with monthly forecasting, variance analysis, and other ad-hoc financial analyses to support management in making strategic decisions
  • Support the accounting team during acquisitions, investments, or other significant business transactions, ensuring proper accounting treatment and integration
  • Assist with the implementation of new accounting policies and procedures to streamline processes and ensure efficiency
  • Collaborate with other departments, including FP&A, Legal, and Tax, to provide accounting support for various business functions

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or progress towards CPA is a plus)
  • 3-5 years of experience in public accounting or corporate accounting, with a focus on financial reporting and general accounting
  • Experience in working for a public company, with knowledge of SEC reporting and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance is strongly preferred
  • Experience with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting requirements for public companies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Oracle, SAP, NetSuite)
