About the role
- Arrange and complete all associated import and export paperwork, including creating files, managing data flow on forwarders' shipment management systems, and internal import systems.
- Ensure data accuracy throughout the process.
- Classify goods and advise customs clearance details.
- Verify composition and descriptions on invoices to ensure correct tariffs and duty rates are applied.
- Coordinate delivery bookings between freight forwarders and the Distribution Centre (DC), resolving any queries that arise.
- Calculate landed costs on products, ensuring correct weight/CBM and freight rates are applied, and update core systems accordingly.
- Manage cost price adjustments.
- Code and pass freight invoices to the accounts payable team.
- Run various daily reports to monitor shipment arrivals, chase late Estimated Time of Arrivals (ETAs) with freight forwarders, process costs, ROE, and check unposted costs.
- Work closely with freight forwarders to ensure timely delivery of goods and keep internal systems up to date, providing visibility for product teams to track all orders and manage intake.
- Escalate unresolved queries to the Senior Supply Chain Analyst.
- Provide support to other areas within the supply chain team as needed.
Requirements
- Good understanding and working experience of import and customs documentation and processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel with VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
- Ability to manage deadlines and navigate challenging situations, requiring negotiation skills to meet timescales.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong administrative skills, organizational abilities, and ability to manage priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for interaction with internal departments, buying teams, DC, accounts, and external freight forwarders worldwide.
