About the role

  • Develop and execute financial strategies that align with the company's short- and long-term goals.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to the CEO and Board of Directors on financial performance and growth initiatives.
  • Partner with business unit leaders to support decision-making, capital and resource allocation.
  • Assist with strategic investments in the company’s software platform and ensure management to company hurdle rates and ROI.
  • Lead presentations of financial performance and forecasts to the company’s investors and Board of Directors.
  • Lead and develop the finance and accounting team.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial modeling while providing valuable insights to the executive team.
  • Lead company-wide financial reporting (monthly, quarterly, and annual reports), including management of financial metrics and KPIs.
  • Analyze business performance and recommend improvements, particularly resource management and ways to improve leverage across the company.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and long term financial models.
  • Manage financial performance against budgets and benchmarks.
  • Improve financial systems, processes, and policies for scale and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with HR, Legal, and IT to manage company-wide operational risk.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting in accordance with GAAP and any regulatory requirements.
  • Manage internal and external audits, tax strategies, and compliance requirements.
  • Implement and oversee financial controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Oversee cash flow management, investment strategies, and capital structure optimization.
  • Lead fundraising initiatives, including equity and debt financing, as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible financial leadership with a SaaS organization, preferably within financial services, or analytics-focused firms.
  • Strong understanding of accounting issues facing SaaS companies and financial statement analysis.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning, fundraising, and investor relations.
  • Strong understanding of SaaS/tech revenue models, risk analytics, and data-driven environments.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to produce clear and concise financial presentations for executive leadership, the Board, and investors.
  • Experience scaling finance functions in high-growth or PE-backed environments.
  • Hands-on, pragmatic approach with high attention to detail.
