About the role

  • Design and develop hardware for advanced electronic products, including printed circuit boards, signal processing modules, video interfaces (SDI, HDMI, etc.), optical interfaces, and Ethernet-based systems
  • Create mechanical enclosure and chassis concepts aligned with hardware functionality and environmental requirements
  • Improve or redesign existing hardware platforms to meet new use cases, product requirements, or performance criteria
  • Lead new product development from concept to verification: translate product definitions into hardware designs, define test plans, and oversee electrical validation procedures
  • Prepare and maintain clear, detailed, and compliant documentation throughout the product lifecycle
  • Collaborate closely with the hardware team to align specifications, implementation approaches, and engineering revisions
  • Work closely with software engineers during integration, validation, and iterative cycles of hardware/software solutions
  • Perform or support electrical verification with an R&D technician to ensure performance, reliability, and compliance
  • Update and modernize legacy boards as needed to meet current design standards and expectations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent discipline
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in hardware or electrical engineering, ideally in video, broadcast, or signal processing environments
  • Strong analytical skills and hands-on experience in electronics and mechanical design
  • Familiarity with a programming language, embedded firmware, or scripting (an asset)
  • Experience with OrCAD Capture and Cadence Allegro (an asset)
  • Membership in the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) is an advantage
  • Fluency in French and English (required)
