About the role
- Oversee daily high-volume payment runs
- Develop and implement process improvements for payment operations
- Strategically partner with payment processing vendors
- Direct prefund management and accounting
- Maintain accurate general ledger balances
- Provide quality control for bank reconciliations
- Ensure timely and accurate period-close procedures
- Design and enforce auditable processes to prevent errors
- Participate in internal and external audits
- Lead reconciliation discrepancy analysis and corrective actions
- Champion data integrity and system controls
- Lead and develop a high-performing accounting team
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators
- Collaborate with Delivery, Client Support, and Finance teams
- Direct outreach efforts for uncashed checks
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
- 2+ years in an accounting leadership role
- 2+ years coordinating/managing third-party payment vendors preferred
- Interest in sustainability and passionate about making a meaningful impact on the environment
- Working knowledge of accounting software; Oracle or NetSuite preferred
- Intermediate Excel proficiency
- Strong understanding of GAAP compliance and audit support
- Experience with ERP implementation/accounting system change highly desired
