About the role
- Lead development of regulated SaaS platform; define technical vision, architecture, and strategy.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations (such as GxP and FDA 21 CFR Part 11); oversee daily operations; drive software development best practices; and manage global teams.
- Plan and execute product delivery while fostering innovation in cloud architecture, security, and software development.
- Serve as the technical owner of MVPs and experimental products from concept through delivery; design and implement scalable prototypes with a focus on velocity, quality, and flexibility.
- Lead and mentor a small team of engineers; establish best practices that encourage autonomy, innovation, and rapid iteration.
- Collaborate with the product manager to shape roadmaps, scope experiments, and make build-vs-buy decisions.
- Balance short-term delivery with long-term technical thinking.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies, frameworks, and architectural patterns appropriate for early-stage development.

Requirements
- Proven experience (7+ years) as a software engineer.
- Proven experience (7+ years) of software engineering leadership, managing diverse cross-functional teams.
- Strong architecture and coding skills across the stack (e.g., backend, frontend, cloud).
- Demonstrated ability to build and iterate on products quickly, ideally in a startup or innovation lab environment.
- Experience leading small, cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Comfort with ambiguity, experimentation, and shifting priorities.
