About the role

  • Lead development of regulated SaaS platform; define technical vision, architecture, and strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations (such as GxP and FDA 21 CFR Part 11); oversee daily operations; drive software development best practices; and manage global teams.
  • Plan and execute product delivery while fostering innovation in cloud architecture, security, and software development.
  • Serve as the technical owner of MVPs and experimental products from concept through delivery; design and implement scalable prototypes with a focus on velocity, quality, and flexibility.
  • Lead and mentor a small team of engineers; establish best practices that encourage autonomy, innovation, and rapid iteration.
  • Collaborate with the product manager to shape roadmaps, scope experiments, and make build-vs-buy decisions.
  • Balance short-term delivery with long-term technical thinking.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies, frameworks, and architectural patterns appropriate for early-stage development.

Requirements

  • Proven experience (7+ years) as a software engineer.
  • Proven experience (7+ years) of software engineering leadership, managing diverse cross-functional teams.
  • Strong architecture and coding skills across the stack (e.g., backend, frontend, cloud).
  • Demonstrated ability to build and iterate on products quickly, ideally in a startup or innovation lab environment.
  • Experience leading small, cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Comfort with ambiguity, experimentation, and shifting priorities.
