About the role
- Serve as the Technical Lead and Solutions Architect for a major application modernization initiative.
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of Microsoft Power Platform solutions (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, Power BI) to replace and modernize legacy systems.
- Architect and implement low-code/no-code applications to streamline workflows and improve system interoperability.
- Provide technical guidance on API development and system integration with enterprise logistics, financial, and maintenance systems.
- Define and enforce data governance, security controls, and application guardrails across all developed solutions.
- Conduct technical assessments of existing applications, databases, and processes to identify modernization opportunities.
- Develop and maintain architecture documentation, system design artifacts, and configuration baselines .
- Lead technical demonstrations, sprint reviews, and solution walkthroughs with stakeholders.
- Provide mentoring and direction to development teams on Power Platform best practices and federal compliance standards.
- Ensure all deliverables comply with federal IT standards (e.g., Section 508, FIPS 140-2/3, Records Management).
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 10+ years of software/application development experience with at least 5+ years in solution architecture or technical lead roles.
- Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, Power BI) in large-scale enterprise deployments.
- Demonstrated success leading application modernization and data migration projects.
- Strong background in API design, system interoperability, and cloud-based integration frameworks.
- Familiarity with federal IT security and compliance requirements (e.g., DHS/DoD frameworks, Section 508, FIPS).
- Proven experience in Agile/DevSecOps environments delivering iterative solutions.
- Skills: Strong technical leadership and team mentoring skills.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Ability to translate mission requirements into scalable, secure technical solutions.
