About the role

  • Provide business-focussed generalist HR/People advice, guidance and interventions across a geographical area or collection of operational programmes / departments.
  • Provide coaching and training to line management for effective performance management.
  • Assist in proactively managing underperforming Co-Members, utilizing capability procedures.
  • Monitor and support probationary Co-Members to meet productivity expectations.
  • Advise on evidence-based procedures, including potential termination within probation.
  • Offer guidance on pay and benefit discrepancies.
  • Build positive relationships with Co-Members and management for early issue escalation and resolution.
  • Monitor attendance and support proactive sickness and absence management.
  • Present satisfaction and engagement survey data to line managers, addressing emerging employee relations issues.
  • Aid in resolving informal complaints impartially and facilitating discussions.
  • Assist in producing company responses to formal grievances in line with policies and regulations.
  • Conduct investigations into grievances and allegations, offering HR advisory support in hearings when needed.
  • Work with Reed Direct Sourcing Team and management teams to ensure that recruitment and selection processes are delivered to company standards in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Advise management on best practices for resourcing needs and internal recruitment policy compliance.
  • Ensure up-to-date and relevant job descriptions and specifications for all roles.
  • Collaborate on restructuring proposal documents and communication guides for management during the consultation process.
  • Provide support and guidance to management during consultation activities.
  • Contribute to TUPE processes, including communication, consultation, and post-transfer support on terms and conditions.

Requirements

  • Background of working in a generalist HR/People environment with some experience of supporting and advising line managers on a range of HR/People issues such as employee consultations, reorganisations, disciplinaries, grievance and sickness absence proceedings.
  • Experience of creating/updating Company policies and procedures, supporting employees in all areas of Company compensation and benefits.
  • Experience of supported internal and external recruitment & selection processes (attraction, assessment centres, interviews, testing etc.).
  • A practical and up to date understanding of employment law.
  • Experience of working in a fast paced commercial environment that is subject to regular change.
  • Providing people focussed interventions that support the delivery of business objectives.
  • Ability to analyse and understand issues/information to make decisions or put forward recommendations.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Well organised and methodical with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Tactful and discreet in handling sensitive personal information.
