• Own the strategy, growth, and execution of Lonely Planet’s flagship mobile experience.
• Define and evolve the long-term vision and roadmap for the Lonely Planet App.

Director of Product Management

Data Engineer

• Lead a team of data engineers and engineering managers building large-scale, real-time data pipelines in Spark
• Act as the primary technical liaison to business leadership, translating trade-offs between technology and business priorities in both directions
• Set the multi-year technical direction for Data Engineering and communicate that strategy across both technical and business audiences
• Partner with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to turn business requirements into data products the team builds against
• Represent Data Engineering in cross-functional and executive planning, building alignment across engineering, product, and business leaders
• Set the architectural direction and standards for how data moves across platforms, from streaming ingestion through ETL to aggregation and analytics, hold your managers and teams accountable to that direction, and establish the engineering and agile practices that support delivery speed and quality
• Stay close to the technical details to guide architecture design decisions, performance tuning, and tradeoff calls, and to give your team the context they need to move quickly without waiting on you
• Work with your teams and the RV Data Platform team to design scalable solutions across distributed systems using AWS, Databricks, and modern big data technologies
• Champion a governance-first mindset across your team, making sure the way we collect, move, and use data protects the privacy of the people behind it
• Manage and develop the data engineering managers on your team, setting the bar for how they coach, hire, and run their teams
• Own career development across your org, building growth paths for individual contributors and managers alike, and coaching through regular, direct feedback
• Hold the team accountable for delivering high-quality, scalable solutions across the full data lifecycle

Director of Data Engineering

• Own and evolve the product roadmap across all digital surfaces, translating business and traveler goals into a prioritized, coherent strategy
• Balance short-term delivery with long-term platform thinking; know when to build for now and when to build for scale
• Write clear, high-quality PRDs and Jira tickets that let engineering and design move fast and build right
• Use analytics, experimentation, and behavioral insights to drive decisions and measure impact — direct ownership of CVR, RPV, AOV, engagement depth, and membership growth
• Accelerate how the team works: sharpen frameworks, improve prioritization, raise the quality of requirements — not just your own output
• Identify and apply AI tools to improve both team workflows and traveler-facing experiences
• Drive alignment across Design, Engineering, Editorial, Marketing, and App — unblocking decisions and maintaining momentum
• Partner with CMS and Editorial to evolve content creation, management, and distribution systems
• Lead the product side of partnership deal implementation and define site-level integration strategy

Principal Product Manager – Digital & Commerce

• Develop starter kits and accelerator kits: Package your agents, orchestration patterns, and workflows into reusable kits that enable business delivery teams to adopt agentic execution within their client engagements. You will drive adoption by making it easy for others to use and extend what you build.
• Roadmap and build agentic systems: You will sit with the business team to identify opportunities and then design, create, and deploy the agents that power our coordinated execution systems. These frameworks will be the foundation for enabling others to build bespoke solutions as well. You will work to compose these agents into end-to-end workflows that replace fragmented manual processes with scalable, intelligent systems.
• Own workstreams across the delivery workflow: Operate as the day-to-day product lead across key workstreams within the agentic delivery workflow. You will define the “how” for your areas of ownership, turning strategic vision into execution plans and driving progress across cross-functional teams.
• Shape the Growth Intelligence integration: Partner with data science, engineering, and client teams to define how structured business context — experiment outcomes, market signals, compliance rules, design system specifications, and partner configurations — is made accessible and actionable by the agents you build.
• Measure and communicate impact: Define success criteria for your workstreams, track outcomes, and communicate ROI and areas of opportunity to leadership. You own the results of what you ship.
