About the role
- Lead the delivery of strategic consulting projects that help life sciences clients transform their Medical Affairs organizations and optimize asset-level strategies
- Manage multi-workstream engagements, lead teams of consultants, and ensure high-quality outcomes that meet client expectations
- Play a key role in building client relationships, identifying new opportunities within existing accounts, and contributing to organic growth
- Own end-to-end delivery of complex Medical Affairs consulting projects
- Define project scope, structure workstreams, and manage timelines and budgets
- Ensure deliverables meet the highest standards of quality and strategic insight
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders (Heads of Medical Affairs, TA Leads)
- Lead client meetings, synthesize insights, and present recommendations
- Identify new opportunities within existing accounts and contribute to organic growth
- Manage and mentor consultants and associate directors; provide coaching and feedback
- Allocate resources effectively across projects and ensure team development
- Develop solutions for organizational challenges (operating model design, governance frameworks, capability building)
- Support asset-level strategy (launch readiness, evidence planning) as part of broader organizational priorities
- Apply structured thinking to ambiguous problems and deliver actionable recommendations
- Partner with internal teams (Market Access, Commercial, Medical Communications) to deliver integrated solutions
- Occasionally support alignment with medical communications programs as needed
Requirements
- Advanced degree preferred: MBA, PharmD, PhD, MD, or equivalent
- 6–10+ years in management consulting or industry roles focused on Medical Affairs strategy and organizational effectiveness
- Proven experience in project leadership, team management, and client engagement
- Strong understanding of Medical Affairs functions and their role in evidence generation, stakeholder engagement, and lifecycle management
- Exceptional communication, executive presence, and problem-solving skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Polished presentation & moderating skills
- Understanding of pharmaceutical and life science industries
- Rigorous attention to detail and accuracy
- Self-starter and driven
- Ability to multi-task with superior organization skills
- Strong ability to work independently as well as be an integral part of a team
- Dependable and flexible
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite software including Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio
