About the role
- Maintain computer systems and act as a first line of support for systems, and users
- Responsible for PC’s, Printers, Servers and related equipment (monitor, keyboard, mouse, hard drive, etc.)
- Maintain user PCs, including upgrades and configurations as needed
- Assist with onboarding of new users
- Maintain inventory of all equipment, software, and license users
- Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software
- Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware
- Respond to queries either in person or over the phone
- Write training manuals
- Maintain daily performance of computer systems
- Walk user through problem-solving process
- Clean up computers
- Run diagnostic programs to resolve problems
- Install computer peripherals for users
- Follow up with customers to ensure issue has been resolved
- Gain feedback from customers about computer usage
- Run reports to determine malfunctions that continue to occur
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience working in a help desk environment
- A+ Certification
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts with minimal notice
- Available to work regular overtime
- Proficiency with macOS, Windows, and Linux (Debian based)
- Excellent oral communication skills
- Detail-oriented in order to keep detailed notes on tickets
- Ability to diagnose and resolve basic computer technical issues
- General awareness of computer systems, PC repair, and network management
- Resourcefulness and quick-thinking nature to troubleshoot new and critical technical issues as they arise
- Ability to deploy, configure, and support operating systems on desktop and mobile
- Understanding and appreciation for information security within systems and user devices
- Strong drive to provide excellent customer service and experience, with an awareness of prioritization of tasks, stakeholders, budget, and time
- Qualified candidate must have the ability to obtain a security clearance. This requires U.S. Citizenship
- Preferred: BA in IT, Computer Science or similar relevant field
- Preferred: Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator or equivalent designation
- Preferred: Experience with Augmented Reality / Virtual Reality hardware
- Preferred: Ability to obtain government clearances
- Preferred: S+ Certification
- Preferred: Experience with ticketing systems
- Preferred: Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) tools
- Preferred: Patch management solutions for endpoint security and compliance
- Preferred: Familiarity with Microsoft Azure administration and services
- Preferred: Experience using Microsoft Intune in both GCC High and Commercial environments
- Preferred: Working knowledge of commercial Linux distributions, especially Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
