About the role

  • Maintain computer systems and act as a first line of support for systems, and users
  • Responsible for PC’s, Printers, Servers and related equipment (monitor, keyboard, mouse, hard drive, etc.)
  • Maintain user PCs, including upgrades and configurations as needed
  • Assist with onboarding of new users
  • Maintain inventory of all equipment, software, and license users
  • Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software
  • Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware
  • Respond to queries either in person or over the phone
  • Write training manuals
  • Maintain daily performance of computer systems
  • Walk user through problem-solving process
  • Clean up computers
  • Run diagnostic programs to resolve problems
  • Install computer peripherals for users
  • Follow up with customers to ensure issue has been resolved
  • Gain feedback from customers about computer usage
  • Run reports to determine malfunctions that continue to occur

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience working in a help desk environment
  • A+ Certification
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts with minimal notice
  • Available to work regular overtime
  • Proficiency with macOS, Windows, and Linux (Debian based)
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Detail-oriented in order to keep detailed notes on tickets
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve basic computer technical issues
  • General awareness of computer systems, PC repair, and network management
  • Resourcefulness and quick-thinking nature to troubleshoot new and critical technical issues as they arise
  • Ability to deploy, configure, and support operating systems on desktop and mobile
  • Understanding and appreciation for information security within systems and user devices
  • Strong drive to provide excellent customer service and experience, with an awareness of prioritization of tasks, stakeholders, budget, and time
  • Qualified candidate must have the ability to obtain a security clearance. This requires U.S. Citizenship
  • Preferred: BA in IT, Computer Science or similar relevant field
  • Preferred: Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator or equivalent designation
  • Preferred: Experience with Augmented Reality / Virtual Reality hardware
  • Preferred: Ability to obtain government clearances
  • Preferred: S+ Certification
  • Preferred: Experience with ticketing systems
  • Preferred: Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) tools
  • Preferred: Patch management solutions for endpoint security and compliance
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Microsoft Azure administration and services
  • Preferred: Experience using Microsoft Intune in both GCC High and Commercial environments
  • Preferred: Working knowledge of commercial Linux distributions, especially Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
