About the role
- Counsel our Product, Marketing and business teams throughout the product lifecycle on applicable legal and regulatory requirements and risks.
- Anticipate and identify legal and regulatory risks, and propose creative and effective solutions to mitigate these risks with a business-focused mindset.
- Draft and negotiate commercial agreements in support of the business and its initiatives.
- Remain up-to-date on relevant industry and consumer protection laws and regulations.
- Partner with the Marketing and go to market teams to ensure compliance of all consumer facing materials.
- Partner with the broader Legal & Compliance team in various other corporate and enterprise initiatives as such opportunities arise.
Requirements
- 7+ years experience in a product counsel role at a law firm or in-house legal department
- Experience in a law firm or in-house corporate environment working specifically on regulatory compliance.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office programs required (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
- Knowledge and application of consumer protection laws and regulations such as RESPA, UDAAP, and GLBA.
- A willingness to dig-in and learn new technology is critical. This role requires digital fluency or – at a minimum – a willingness to learn.
