About the role
- Take ownership of a publisher portfolio spanning half of the UK market and the entire US portfolio, working with prestigious publishers.
- Act as the primary point of contact, building deep, trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Negotiate and manage contracts to deliver long-term, mutually rewarding agreements.
- Pitch, negotiate and onboard new publishers, with a particular focus on national UK newspapers and international news brands.
- Analyse performance, optimise results and identify new ways to increase revenue and readership.
- Track and manage key metrics including retention, revenue, readership, and subscriber growth.
- Represent Readly at market meetings, task forces and events to strengthen our voice and visibility.
- Partner with Marketing, Product, Editorial and Data colleagues to create seamless and impactful publisher experiences.
- Monitor market trends and turn them into actionable strategies that benefit both publishers and Readly.
Requirements
- Experience in account management, business development, sales or partnerships (media/publishing preferred but not essential).
- Strong sales and negotiation skills, with a track record of delivering commercial outcomes.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, confident with senior stakeholders.
- Highly organised and proactive, able to juggle multiple markets and priorities.
- A genuine interest in media, news and digital publishing.
- Fluent/native English (additional languages are a plus).
- Flexibility to travel in the UK and internationally when required.
