About the role
- Manage the end-to-end grant and vest processes for monthly and/or annual awards of equity/deferred compensation programs, providing critical validations to ensure sufficient controls, and support enhanced process documentation.
- Resolve equity award related concerns/issues, and serve as a key contact to participants, including senior executives.
- Ensure accurate and timely quarterly administration of the dividend reinvestment process, including audits on the internal HRIS and third-party recordkeeping system (Shareworks).
- Provide reports to internal partners, such as Finance, Compliance, Corporate Treasury, Compensation Governance, and others as required.
- Respond to queries for award balances from HR Business Partners, Employee Relations, Law, and other groups as required.
- Share responsibility for SEDI filings of RBC Insiders to reflect changes in equity holdings to meet regulatory requirements.
- Partner with external tax advisors to ensure appropriate treatment of equity compensation payments for cross-border employees, and provide accurate reporting to Canadian and international payroll teams.
- Strengthen relationship with external provider(s), continuously seeking ways to better leverage existing systems, and explore improved reporting and uses for validations.
- Manage year-end activities for all equity compensation plans in-scope, identifying and implementing ongoing enhancements.
- Develop new and/or enhance existing education materials to broaden equity knowledge across participants and partners.
- Act as back-up to other Equity Compensation Delivery team members to ensure the team provides uninterrupted delivery and ongoing project management.
- Support ad hoc compensation projects and other duties as required.
Requirements
- 2 – 4+ years of relevant work experience in Compensation, Human Resources (with an exposure to Finance, an asset).
- Advanced Word and Excel.
- Undergraduate degree in Business or Human Resources.
- Solid understanding of compensation frameworks and the types of compensation programs found within large organizations.
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
- Solid relationship building skills; client service orientated and flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment dealing with constant change.
- Detail orientated, analytical aptitude.
