About the role

Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing platform engineering team by fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning
Drive initiatives to improve developer velocity by streamlining workflows and reducing friction
Uphold and drive high standards for best engineering practices across Poe teams
Leverage the latest AI tools to enhance team productivity
Define and align the team’s roadmap with organizational goals
Establish processes for operational efficiency and reliability
Guide technical design discussions and long-term strategy
Build foundational systems, frameworks, tools, and abstractions (testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, developer environments) to enhance developer productivity

Availability for meetings and impromptu communication during Quora's “coordination hours" (Mon-Fri: 9am-3pm Pacific Time)
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
8+ years in software engineering with proficiency in programming languages like Python and JavaScript
2+ years of experience managing engineers, fostering their growth and professional development
Proven experience in designing and scaling systems that enhance developer workflows, such as CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and automation tools
Proven ability to manage complex projects, prioritize effectively, and deliver scalable, high-quality technical solutions on time
Exceptional ability to articulate complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
A proactive mindset with a passion for tackling challenges, improving processes, and driving engineering excellence
Preferred: Hands-on experience with AI platforms, frameworks, and APIs, including integrating AI/ML solutions into engineering systems
Preferred: In-depth experience with modern container orchestration and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform)
Preferred: Familiarity with designing and maintaining highly scalable, reliable, and fault-tolerant systems for developer platforms
