About the role
- Agile Six is a remote-work company that serves shoulder-to-shoulder with federal agencies to find innovative, human-centered solutions.
- We build better by putting people first.
- The role is a DevOps Engineer to join a newly formed team. You will design and implement infrastructure-as-code, container orchestration, and deployment automations that power critical services. Day to day, you’ll craft cloud-native build, test, and release workflows that support goals for CI/CD automation, infrastructure, deployments, and security/compliance, embedding controls by default so teams can focus on shipping features.
- You’ll collaborate across the stack, contributing scripts, services, and documentation to shared repositories, while leveraging AI-powered tools such as GitHub Copilot and Cursor to accelerate delivery—always reviewing outputs for quality and security.
- Working closely with product, design, and engineering teammates, you’ll ensure DevSecOps work is visible in user stories and prioritized in the backlog.
- As the ecosystem evolves, you’ll continuously experiment with emerging cloud, AI, and automation technologies to keep systems resilient and developer-friendly.
Requirements
- 8+ years as a software engineer with a primary focus on DevSecOps automation.
- If you have a Bachelor's degree, at least 4 years of experience are required. If you have a different degree (e.g., Associate’s or Master’s), let us know and we’ll adjust the experience requirement accordingly.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with AWS services and networking.
- Proven use of IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) and orchestration tech (Kubernetes/EKS, Docker).
- Deep understanding of DevOps best practices—CI/CD, automated testing, pipeline monitoring, and cultural evangelism.
- Solid track record working on Agile teams and within open-source, collaborative environments.
- Familiarity with AI tools/services and a willingness to apply them responsibly for better outcomes.
- Has lived and worked in the United States for at least 3 of the last 5 years; able to travel occasionally if required.
