About the role

  • Run point on ordering. You'll handle purchasing from start to finish for multiple R&D labs, making sure scientists get what they need, when they need it.
  • Solve problems before they happen. Stay one step ahead of supply chain issues to keep research moving forward without a hitch.
  • Optimize for value. You'll actively source products, compare vendor pricing, and find deals to ensure your labs' budgets are maximized without compromising on quality.
  • Drive account success. You'll be their go-to Quartzy person, helping labs scale efficiently by improving their internal processes and software adoption.
  • Be the customer’s biggest advocate. Build meaningful relationships with your customers and be their voice inside the company.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of purchasing experience in a life sciences lab or company, with a strong understanding of R&D workflows.
  • Meticulous attention to detail while juggling competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, with a high sense of urgency and excellent time management.
  • Ability to learn new platforms quickly.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites or vendor shows 4-6 times per year.
  • Bonus points for customer-facing experience, proficiency with procurement/accounting software (NetSuite, QBO), or previous work in a fast-growing startup.
