About the role
- Serve as a fully remote Senior Transmission Planning Engineer for Qualus
- Establish technical direction and philosophy for the organization and act as an industry expert
- Effectively simulate and analyze performance of clients’ transmission and generation systems under normal and emergency operations
- Run steady-state studies and load-flow analyses using tools such as TARA, PSSE, PSLF, or Powerworld
- Generate System Impact Studies and Transmission Service Requests
- Assign, review, and prioritize projects and job tasks; delegate and mentor less experienced consultant engineers
- Justify strategy and analysis recommendations through documentation and data to audiences and clients
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited program
- Four (4) to ten (10) years engineering experience
- Experienced running Steady State studies
- Familiar with load flow software such as TARA, PSSE or PSLF, and/or Powerworld
- Familiar with generating System Impact Studies and Transmission Service Request
- Ability to run Steady State studies
- Knowledge of power system analysis and modeling techniques
- Familiar with the applicable NERC/FERC guidelines
- Strong analytical and computer skills
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Leadership experience assigning/reviewing projects and mentoring less experienced engineers
