About the role

  • Support the clean energy transition in New England by providing analytical, economic, and strategic services for transmission solutions
  • Model the electricity sector and transmission grid to meet organizational objectives
  • Coordinate preparation of data, reports, presentations, and compliance filings regarding Eversource transmission projects to ISO New England
  • Serve as transmission engineering subject matter expert in state, regional, and federal forums
  • Supervise, assign, prioritize and direct the work performed by other engineers and analysts
  • Oversee engineers, analysts and consultants performing technical analysis including economic capacity expansion, production cost, and probabilistic modeling analyses
  • Develop analytical products, visualizations, research, and advocacy materials to support policy recommendations
  • Support bid development and drafting applications for funding opportunities
  • Manage, coach, develop, and review performance of engineers, analysts and other staff
  • Research and analyze policies and studies affecting Eversource’s transmission business
  • Provide subject matter expertise to state procurement evaluation team on network and interconnection issues
  • May serve as an expert witness in state regulatory proceedings

Requirements

  • Authorization to work in the United States is a precondition to employment
  • Eversource will not sponsor candidates for work visas for this position
  • Experience with electric production cost modeling tools such as PLEXOS, Gridview, PROMOD, or similar
  • Knowledge of power system analysis software such as PSS/E, TARA, Powerworld, ASPEN Oneliner
  • Knowledge of major ongoing clean energy policy activities impacting transmission business
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory, legislative, and industry trends in the energy sector and utility operations
  • Demonstrated ability in working across functional/organizational boundaries
  • Strong communication skills
  • Familiarity with electric transmission and emerging utility technologies (distributed energy, grid modernization, storage)
  • Knowledge and experience with ISO/RTO processes and FERC open access transmission tariffs
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, Operations Management, Public Policy, Political Science, related degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • Ten (10) to twelve (12) years of related experience in the electricity industry
  • Motor vehicle license is required
