About the role
- Negotiating and drafting customer contracts as well as various other transactional matters
- Providing ongoing interpretation of customer agreements and advice thereon
- Assisting in developing, disseminating and reviewing template contract documentation, internal forms and processes, and procedures for the company
- Overseeing general corporate legal matters
- Assisting with legal and regulatory compliance
- Assisting with compliance with various domestic and international privacy laws
- Assisting with management of the Company’s insurance program and operations
- Assisting with a variety of other legal functions such as loans, joint ventures, acquisitions, construction, real estate, intellectual property protection, tax abatements, litigation, etc.
- Managing collections on customer accounts
- Performing a broad range of legal matters and general business matters based on the needs of the company, as assigned
- Working with and managing outside counsel, counterparties, insurers, and other third parties as needed
Requirements
- J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school with strong academic credentials
- Admission to the Bar of a U.S. state or the District of Columbia
- Three or more years of legal experience as a practicing lawyer working in a general corporate transactional practice
- Experience with project finance and/or asset-based lending (Nice to Have)
- Data center and/or sales experience (Nice to Have)
- Hands-on, self-starter who is disciplined and detail-oriented
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong listening, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel), Box, Workday, DocuSign
- Excellent analytical, time-management, judgment and decision-making skills
- Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage complicated legal and business issues
