Lead the strategic direction of capital initiatives, capital governance and compliance for AUSPAC
Analyse AUSPAC’s capital position, evaluate capital targets, and forecast dividend capacity in collaboration with Regulatory Reporting
Support the CFO and CRO in preparing ICAAP reports and enhancing related frameworks, policies, and scenario analysis
Lead capital optimisation initiatives across reinsurance, investment, and portfolio strategy and partner with Group Treasury on stress testing and group-wide planning
Ensure compliance with APRA Prudential Standards and internal governance policies, continuously improving capital reporting processes
Maintain and enhance CPS190 Recovery and Exit Plans and CPS900 Resolution Assessment and contribute to QBE Group’s resolution planning efforts
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and regulators to strengthen capital management, modelling capabilities, and governance across AUSPAC
Requirements
Extensive experience in capital management, financial resilience frameworks, and/or operational crisis planning within the insurance industry
Strong track record in developing and implementing ICAAP, scenario analysis, stress testing, and recovery and resolution planning
Deep understanding of intra-group operational and financial dependencies, including reinsurance arrangements
Relevant qualifications such as FIAA or equivalent, with a strong foundation in actuarial, finance, risk, regulatory, or legal disciplines
In-depth understanding of insurer capital adequacy and ICAAP frameworks in Australia, including associated prudential standards, legislation, and regulatory requirements (APRA)
Demonstrated actuarial expertise and advanced problem-solving capabilities
Strong grasp of general insurance products and financial risk concepts
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Strategic thinking and initiative to drive change and implement improvements within complex organisational environments
Familiarity with financial and operational risks, business continuity planning, crisis management protocols, and prior experience in capital modelling is highly desirable
