💰 $120,400 - $200,400 per year
About the role
- Lead and coordinate all commercial functions including negotiations and project oversight
- Develop and implement acquisition/divestiture strategies and evaluate potential transactions
- Shepherd transactions through commercial negotiations and closing
- Represent PSE's interests in commercial development agreements with outside parties
- Lead the resource acquisition RFP process and due diligence reviews including financial, engineering, operations, environmental, legal, and real estate reviews
- Oversee and lead negotiations of business deals including acquisitions, development projects, purchase and sales agreements, O&M agreements, real estate agreements, interconnection agreements, and service agreements
- Ensure all conditions are met related to deal closing and that transactions are successfully closed
- Support regulatory affairs in demonstrating prudence of transactions, including preparing and providing testimony in WUTC rate cases
- Manage external vendors, setting scope, providing direction and approving work
- Uphold safety compliance standards and promote a culture of total safety
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, finance, economics, business administration, or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience
- 7 years of relevant work experience
- Five (5) years of increasing responsibility in the utility, oil, gas, or independent power sector
- Experience in project development or commercial acquisitions
- Strong business and financial analytical skills
- Demonstrated experience and ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to contemporaneously document evaluation, due dilligence, and negotiation initiatives for later prudence purposes
- Ability to understand complex financial pro-formas and provide direction to analytical staff
- (Desired) MBA or related post graduate degree
- (Desired) Experience developing utility-scale power projects, renewable energy and storage projects
- (Desired) Experience negotiating power purchase agreements and asset acquisitions
- (Desired) Experience working in the energy markets of the Pacific Northwest and WECC region
- (Desired) Familiarity with the Washington State regulatory environment for electricity
- (Desired) Utility scale asset management or asset evaluation experience
