Plans, supervises, and evaluates the delivery of nursing care, the performance of assigned staff, and unit management 24 hours a day, 7 days per week, for designated clinical area(s).
Works closely with the Director of Nursing to ensure continuity of care across the continuum.
Minimal supervision required.
Manage sterile processing operations, instrument sterilization, and reprocessing workflows for surgical services.
Oversee staff performance, scheduling, time and attendance, and progressive management responsibilities.
Requirements
Within 1 year of hire date: Central Sterile Processing degree/Diploma
Within 3 years of hire date: Bachelor's Degree - Business or Science Degree: Science, Microbiology, Business, or Nursing
Upon Hire: National Certified Registered Central Service Technician - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association
Upon Hire: National Certified Instrument Specialist - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association
2 or more years of work experience in an operating room or reprocessing setting necessary to acquire a working knowledge of medical terminology, surgical supplies and instrumentation.
3 or more years of varied and complex surgical experience
3 or more years of progressive management accountability experience
3 or more years of varied and complex surgical instrument experience
Preferred: Upon Hire: Specialty certification related to practice
Preferred: Upon Hire: ACLS and/or PALS
Preferred: Supervisory/leadership experience
Preferred: Experience with staff scheduling and time and attendance
