Identifying risks and defining mitigations, including test cases, in collaboration with Software Engineers
Refining backlog items with clear acceptance criteria, working alongside Software Engineers
Confirming deliverables are release-ready with input from Software Engineers
Performing Quality Assurance by designing tests to ensure solutions are fit for purpose before delivery and in-production tests to monitor application behaviour
Supporting the shift toward automated testing by specifying automation requirements for Software Engineers to reduce reliance on manual tests
Demonstrating working software to clients regularly and collaborating with Software Engineers and Product Owners to integrate feedback
Collaborating with clients’ testing teams to make UAT as effective as possible
Monitoring production issues and leading testing improvements to prevent recurrence
Documenting and communicating the risk profile of the applications in your team’s portfolio
Requirements
7 + years of experience as a Software Quality Analyst
Recent experience as a Senior or Lead Quality Analyst and progressed beyond being a “checker” to applying business analysis skills
Commercial experience and knowledge to describe what “done” looks like
Technical troubleshooting including log file analysis and basic data analysis
Relevant experience in designing test strategies and test plans based around acceptance criteria
Experience working with clients to define user stories and confirm acceptance criteria
Experience in analysing data to draw business-relevant conclusions
Experience using data visualisation techniques and tools
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing
Demonstrable interest or experience in digital identity, verifiable credentials, open banking, AI agent authorization, edge or device-based software deployment
Must be based in Auckland (candidates across New Zealand or internationally planning to relocate to Auckland are welcome; specify relocation plans in application)
