Develop and implement a standardized post-construction facilities management framework across all campuses, including utilities setup, safety & compliance, janitorial & sanitation, capital & deferred maintenance planning, repairs & maintenance, standards creation & enforcement, and new campus readiness
Create and maintain long-term capital improvement plans for each site and oversee multiple projects simultaneously
Utilize work order management system for preventative and repair maintenance requests and lead major repair projects from planning to completion
Source, evaluate, and negotiate MSAs with vendors and build strong local vendor networks in each geography
Monitor vendor performance, review lease agreements regarding maintenance, and coordinate with landlords and campus operations
Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure adherence to scope, budget, and timelines; conduct on-site inspections and resolve issues
Develop and allocate the national facilities budget, partner with Finance to monitor spending, and identify cost efficiencies
Ensure all facilities meet safety, accessibility, and building regulations; implement and monitor preventive maintenance programs and lead periodic safety/compliance audits
Work cross-functionally with Real Estate Development, Education, and Compliance teams and respond to HQ and on-site inquiries and emergencies
Requirements
Experience managing a national real estate footprint (education, retail, hotel system, or similar)
Proven ability to partner with Real Estate Development, Finance, and Compliance teams
Experience overseeing capital improvement projects and post-construction facilities management
Experience with utilities setup and management, janitorial/sanitation, repairs, and maintenance
Experience creating and enforcing standards and new campus readiness processes
Experience sourcing, evaluating, and negotiating MSAs with vendors and managing vendor performance
Experience reviewing lease agreements and coordinating with landlords and campus operations
Experience coordinating with architects, engineers, and contractors and conducting on-site inspections
Knowledge of applicable safety, accessibility, and building regulations (OSHA, ADA, fire safety)
Experience implementing preventive maintenance programs and long-term capital planning
Willingness to travel approximately 50% to inspect sites and supervise vendors
Startup mentality; willingness to roll up sleeves and help build the facilities management program from 0.5-1
