Oversees a team of outside sales representatives selling outdoor living products and services through an expansive distribution network.
Responsible for team performance, professional development, territory optimization, and sales growth.
Leads, mentors, and manages a team of outside sales representatives in assigned territories.
Works with team to help them develop a strategy to increase sales and profits within the assigned territory for different customer segments including key, opportunity, new, and existing customers.
Establishes clear sales targets and objectives for each representative; tracks progress and provides regular feedback.
Develops, implements, and executes action plans to achieve desired results in conjunction with the Division General Manager and Regional Manager.
Collaborates with Pricing Team and Division Leadership to provide input on local pricing strategies.
Conducts regular field visits, ride-alongs, and performance reviews with sales staff.
Provides ongoing sales training, product knowledge education, and professional development opportunities for the team.
Analyzes sales data, team activity, and market trends to identify opportunities and optimize territory coverage.
Develops and maintains strategic relationships with key accounts, providing tailored support and driving growth/retention.
Prepares and presents sales performance reports to senior management.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred.
5+ years’ outside sales experience in distribution sales, or related industries.
2+ years of sales team management experience.
Ample knowledge of one or more of these product lines: pool related equipment, plumbing supplies, tile, decking, exterior lighting, patio furniture, construction materials, building supplies, chemicals, landscaping / irrigation supplies, HVAC supplies or similar tangible goods.
Experience with Digital sales tools and driving adoption
Ability to analyze and translate field/customer feedback into actionable strategies
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organizational, coaching, and motivational abilities.
Comfortable traveling regionally as required.
Proficiency in CRM and sales reporting tools.
Self-motivation and ability to work independently.
Proficiency with Microsoft CE or other CRM and the entire Microsoft Suite (e.g., Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel).
Familiarity with Prelude or similar inventory management software is preferred.
A valid driver’s license, a satisfactory driving record – no more than 2 violations within 3 years.
