About the role

  • Serve as the primary HR contact for a portfolio of clients, building strong, trust-based relationships and becoming their go-to advisor for day-to-day people questions and challenges.
  • Provide practical, on-call HR guidance across areas like hiring, onboarding, performance conversations, employee relations, policy interpretation, and terminations.
  • Help clients build stronger foundations by advising on performance management processes, compensation reviews, engagement strategies, and clear, compliant documentation such as handbooks and job descriptions.
  • Ensure clients remain compliant with employment standards across North America, flagging risks early and providing clear, actionable guidance.
  • Guide clients through change, including growth, restructuring, leadership transitions, and culture development.
  • Identify when a client would benefit from additional project-based HR support and introduce those opportunities to expand the partnership.
  • Collaborate with the broader Strategic HR Services team to share insights, strengthen our offerings, and ensure consistent, high-quality client support.

Requirements

  • Legally able to work in Canada and located in Calgary, AB
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience as an HR professional, preferably in a client-facing or consulting capacity
  • Experience in a management or leadership role is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, CHRP) is preferred
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-client environment
  • Strong knowledge of HR tools, technologies (e.g., BambooHR), and best practices
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time-management abilities
  • Comprehensive understanding of employment laws and compliance requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
