About the role
- Serve as the primary HR contact for a portfolio of clients, building strong, trust-based relationships and becoming their go-to advisor for day-to-day people questions and challenges.
- Provide practical, on-call HR guidance across areas like hiring, onboarding, performance conversations, employee relations, policy interpretation, and terminations.
- Help clients build stronger foundations by advising on performance management processes, compensation reviews, engagement strategies, and clear, compliant documentation such as handbooks and job descriptions.
- Ensure clients remain compliant with employment standards across North America, flagging risks early and providing clear, actionable guidance.
- Guide clients through change, including growth, restructuring, leadership transitions, and culture development.
- Identify when a client would benefit from additional project-based HR support and introduce those opportunities to expand the partnership.
- Collaborate with the broader Strategic HR Services team to share insights, strengthen our offerings, and ensure consistent, high-quality client support.
Requirements
- Legally able to work in Canada and located in Calgary, AB
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as an HR professional, preferably in a client-facing or consulting capacity
- Experience in a management or leadership role is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, CHRP) is preferred
- Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-client environment
- Strong knowledge of HR tools, technologies (e.g., BambooHR), and best practices
- Ability to manage multiple clients and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time-management abilities
- Comprehensive understanding of employment laws and compliance requirements
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
