About the role
- Own full-cycle recruiting for IC and management roles across scientific, research, technical, G&A, and commercial teams, from targeted sourcing through offer close.
- Build and run high-signal sourcing strategies using modern recruiting tech, AI-assisted tools, and data-driven experimentation to reach and convert top-tier talent.
- Shape and refine role and company-level messaging; coach hiring managers on how to clearly and credibly pitch opportunities to candidates and the market.
- Serve as a trusted hiring partner, supporting managers on role alignment, scorecards, interview structure and techniques, candidate closing, and offer strategy.
- Run end-to-end interview processes, delivering a strong candidate experience while keeping clean, useful data in Ashby and coordinating interviews, feedback, and scheduling primarily via Slack.
- Partner closely with hiring managers and the Talent team to deeply understand hiring needs, provide updates on sourcing progress, and offer real-time market feedback.
- Track and analyze recruiting metrics (time-to-hire, funnel conversion, sourcing effectiveness, quality indicators) and use insights to coach interview teams and improve outcomes.
- Manage agency partners supporting roles in your portfolio, setting clear expectations around quality, volume, and efficiency.
- Help evolve the Plasmidsaurus talent brand in the biotech community by showing up as a thoughtful, authentic representative of who we are and how we work.
Requirements
- 5+ years of in-house, full-cycle recruiting experience, ideally in high-growth startups working directly with hiring managers; biotech, life sciences, or other technically complex environments preferred.
- Strong sourcing skillset and experience, and a track record of engaging and converting hard-to-reach, high-caliber candidates.
- Experience building or improving on recruiting processes and hiring best practices in lean teams.
- Proven success recruiting across diverse role types, including technical, business, and scientific and/or R&D positions.
- Hands-on experience leveraging recruiting technology and AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency, signal quality, and scale impact. Ashby experience is a plus.
- Confidence partnering with hiring managers and the ability to coach, influence, and challenge when needed to drive stronger hiring decisions.
- Grounded in structured interviewing and hiring practices with a first-principles mindset and approach to defining the most efficient and effective approaches.
- Data-minded approach, with experience using recruiting metrics to guide decisions and improve results.
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple searches and stakeholders without compromising candidate experience.
- Clear, concise communicator who can translate complex roles and company narratives into compelling, market-ready stories.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and energized by building, iterating, and improving as the company grows.
