• Ability to communicate with clients in a non-directive manner about all options available to them in the event of an unintended pregnancy and make a referral for service based on the persons needs.
• Assure center opening, closing, maintenance and cleanliness of the clinic is completed as scheduled
• Performs routine office duties, including, but not limited to, answering the telephone, making appointments, providing referrals, explaining and collecting fees, entering client information into computer.
• Maintains client record systems and lab results and ensures accurate input of information into the computer system
• Interviews clients according to client-centered education methods to obtain medical history and provide client education.
• Provides factual, nonbiased information to all clients about all FDA approved birth control methods and information those seeking abortion in accordance with PPAU policy and medical guidelines
• Assists medical provider in the examination and procedure-surgical rooms.
• Describes the difference between medical and surgical abortions.
• Performs phlebotomy, specific laboratory duties for abortion services including processing products of conception.
• Assures medical office is clean and appropriately stocked with proper equipment and supplies.
• Perform medical assisting, client education and support, laboratory testing, and electronic medical file maintenance; support clinical, financial and clerical duties; maintain and train team members and volunteers on abortion care procedures.

Bilingual Clinical Assistant/Medical Assistant

Director

• Serve as mentor and clinical guide for Registered Nurses and collaborate with Metro Health Center Manager and medical leadership
• Deliver direct patient care within licensure scope, including value-neutral counseling and reproductive health services including abortion
• Advise, counsel, and provide referrals; perform physical assessments and manage common gynecologic/non-gynecologic issues
• Maintain clinical systems (abnormal lab follow-ups), complete medical documentation, support prescription refills, phone consultations, and follow-up
• Participate in Centralized Follow-Up team and support clinic financial and patient data awareness
• Lead nursing leadership duties: ensure regulatory compliance, support state inspector visits, hire/train/evaluate staff, orient/mentor students, complete annual staff reviews, monitor productivity
• Participate in Medical Leadership Meetings and coordinate emergency drills
• Quality and Risk Management: serve on QRM subcommittees, complete and report abortion and medical audits, follow up on medical occurrences, develop audit and training calendar
• Work evenings and weekends as needed and rotate with nursing staff for after-hours calls

Director of Nursing

• Perform medical assisting tasks under direction of medical providers (including client education and support)
