About the role
- Provide financial support for CMO leads in the Pfizer Research and Development organization
- Develop accurate and timely financial forecasts, provide detailed analysis, and proactively identify and communicate issues
- Lead month-end financial close and reporting responsibilities for select partner lines
- Work closely with the R&D partner line teams to provide business counsel and financial leadership on cost optimization initiatives
- Advise team and actively engage in investment decisions through understanding of the research and development strategies and cost drivers
- Ensure integrity and accuracy of the financial statements and compliance with Pfizer policies and procedures
- Maintain a strong partnership with the other R&D Finance colleagues to develop and share best practices
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field
- 6+ years of finance experience
- Experience should include budgeting, forecasting, planning and analysis for a global organization
- Knowledge of accounting and prior experience in monthly financial close activities
- Ability to communicate financial concepts to business leaders and successful experience operating in highly matrixed organizations
- Relevant professional skills including problem solving, project planning and delivery, attention to detail, time management, critical thinking
- Ability to apply continuous improvement mindset
- Ability to work independently, under pressure and amid ambiguity
- Knowledge of SAP and fluency in Microsoft Office tools
- Experience with Oracle/Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) applications and SAP Business Intelligence (SAP BI)
- Familiarity with Pfizer finance policies and internal processes
