About the role
- Lead the work effort to gain an understanding of the business—such as its revenues, client base, service model, operations, and distribution channels—to both identify potential risks of a transaction and inform integration efforts.
- Financial analyses, such as quality of earnings and net working capital analyses.
- Prepare post-closing financial forecast for the target business.
- Coordinate subject matter experts related to confirmatory diligence workstreams such as IT, compliance, tax.
- Ensure timely and efficient progress of the diligence project overall while maintaining top tier vendor experience.
- Various project logistics, as required.
Requirements
- Mindset of intellectual curiosity, continuous learning, perseverance, and an understanding that growth happens outside the comfort zone.
- Ability to advance multiple workstreams under tight timelines while maintaining high quality of work product.
- Ability to process information of various types, sources, formats, or structure.
- Willingness to work in excess of standard working hours to accomplish goals and meet timelines.
- Attention to detail and appreciation of data-informed, commercially-nuanced analysis.
- Ability to communicate effectively both in written and verbal form.
- Understanding of accounting / finance concepts such as free cash flow/EBITDA, one-time v. recurring items, net working capital, and similar.
- Completion or near completion of post-graduate professional education such as CPA, CBV, CFA, MBA, P.Eng., or comparable designations or experience.
- French language proficiency.
- Experience in audit, due diligence engagements, transaction advisory services, corporate development, or capital markets more broadly.
- Experience in retail financial services distribution.
