About the role

  • Prepare monthly financial statements for multiple branches
  • Execute month-end close procedures, journal entries and cyclical activities (reconciliations, property and sales tax returns)
  • Identify, research and report budget and forecast variances to management
  • Develop financial models to support business activity
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement accounts
  • Compare financial statements across subsidiaries to ensure consistent accounting treatment
  • Analyze material costs, GL variances to perpetual inventory, scrap and support physical inventory calculation
  • Assist planning and coordination of year-end audits and preparation of annual financial statements
  • Maintain and update general ledger accounts in financial systems
  • Drive business improvements, continuous improvement activities and internal accounting controls
  • Coordinate with other managers and perform special projects as assigned

Requirements

  • BS/BA in Accounting or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • 3-5 years experience preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • CPA/CGA/CMA preferred
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Ability to develop proficiency in Pella proprietary software (PDQ, POETS, OMS, etc.) and other accounting/financial reporting systems
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize and work with frequent interruptions
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, public speaking and customer service abilities
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and investigative skills; ability to synthesize information and make objective decisions
  • Attention to administrative detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Mathematical aptitude for financial analysis, variance analysis and advanced mathematical operations
  • Ability to travel 20% to 25%
